A fiercely competed local derby saw the more experienced Weston side come out on top, by a comfortable, in the end, 4-1 scoreline.

The early exchanges were competitive and hard fought but a moment of temper saw Tim Richens  decide to take himself off the pitch too cool down, and soon after, the payer he was marking, Steve Crilley, took advantage by getting free and hammering a shot past Joe Malik, who for most of the night looked unbeatable, befitting his man of the match award! Soon afterwards Weston had a penalty, which Crilley took but again Malik was not to be beaten and the scoreline remained unchanged.

The goal of the match then went to Cheddar as Paul Chick smashed a shot that gave Hembrow no chance in the Weston goal but while Cheddar were still celebrating, the Weston team showed their extra experience by getting forward and Lilley scored with another shot that gave no chance to Malik. This meant Weston led 2-1 going into the break and it was "all to play for".

The second half saw Weston effectively settle the game as Crilley scored again to make it 3-1. A couple of changes saw Richens return to the game, along with the impressive Dave Giles, but Cheddar could not score, the best chance being a close range free kick which the home side attempted to take quickly but some very "clever" strategic running by the wily Weston defender saw the chance taken away. Unfortunately this further incensed Richens and his reaction earned him a blue card, and chance to rest in the sin bin!

When Richens did come back, he was left helpless as Lilley get on the end of a Crilley pass to make the score look secure at 4-1., thereafter Cheddar battled hard but Weston played excellent "keep ball" to hold off the Cheddar team and earn their place in the next round.
