WHITES 3-1 REDS

Tuesday night saw another great training session for Cheddar Ladies Walking football team, with a good turnout leading to a close match between the Whites and the Reds.

The game started with lots of energy from both teams, and good communication throughout.

Despite efforts from both sides, the game remained at 0-0 as the half time whistle blew.

The second half saw the same determination as the first, this time with some goals thrown in!

The Whites went ahead first, with a goal from Chelsea Llewellyn. Soon after though, this was countered by newcomer Jo Williams, who levelled the score for the Reds with an impressive shot from way outside of the area.

With the scores once again even, both teams were eager to get another goal, which was achieved for the Whites by another newcomer, Liz McConnell, with a calm goal slotted past the keeper.

Not to be deterred, the Reds continued to pressure the Whites, with Georgi Cooper (yet another newcomer) being cruelly denied an equaliser by the goalpost.

In the closing moments, Julie Dwyer was able to secure the Whites’ win with a powerful shot into the back of the net.

All of the ladies put in a great effort and left with smiles on their faces, as always.
