We’ve now got a ladies section that play every Saturday morning (lockdown and wet weather excepted!).


So, can I please remind you of a few facts, rather than cause confusion or put people off!

To join in with Cheddar Ladies Walking Football Group, it’s easy and simple!
- if it’s raining it’s OFF (we will post on Facebook on Saturday morning, so make sure you come to the Facebook “group” to check)
- it’s free of cost (there’s no joining, or session, fee!)
- IT IS NOT JUST for people who’ve played football
- it’s fun and fitness work, so it’s great for physical and mental health, it’s recommended by health professionals
- you don’t have to have kit (just trainers, t shirt and tracksuit bottoms), but if you do, the fine!!
- it won’t turn you into a man, or make you David Beckham
- anyone who is there will also be “self doubting” and thinking “will I look silly”! The answer to that is “NO, YOU WONT”!!
- Coaches won’t be shouting at you, or be nasty to you, just trying to help you enjoy it
- it won’t be “technical”, it will be a few light warm up exercises and then a kick about!
- you are really welcome to bring friends if that makes you feel more comfortable
- it’s FEMALES ONLY (all ages, though the group is primarily aimed at 40+)

What we want it to be though is, fun, by:- helping your physical and mental welfare
- being covid secure (as it’s under the banner of Cheddar Walking Football Club - an affiliated team - it’s falls into the organised sporting team rules/guidelines)
- something you WANT to come to again!

So, please, spread the word - all bibs and balls provided! And you don’t need football kit, trainers, trackie bottoms are fine, if you’ve got kit - well done, lol
